MAPPPD is an open access decision support tool made available at and its subdomains (e.g., and designed to aid in the dissemination of penguin population data for the Antarctic continent. As such, MAPPPD data may be shared with other scientific web portals, subject to these Terms of Use.
The users of MAPPPD are strongly encouraged to cite the original data source when using data from MAPPPD.
In these Terms of Use, "user" means any individual that queries data, downloads data, and/or otherwise accesses information on MAPPPD.

General Terms

  1. MAPPPD was developed for users in the scientific, educational, and policy communities.

  4. Oceanites does not guarantee uninterrupted service, or uninterrupted ability to access MAPPPD, or that the use of MAPPPD will be completely secure. Oceanites is not responsible for slow loading times due to any cause, including slow internet connections or sluggish computer performance on the user side.
  5. Geographic names in MAPPPD do not imply any expression of opinion by Oceanites.
